"The separation of Drama and Dance seemed to be the most surprising as my previous knowledge of the art curriculum was inadequate. Reading the revision and purpose of the amendment, the main focus seemed to be on the realization that both art disciplines are distinctly different yet go in hand with one another"

"Each student is different and thus as future educators we must find different ways of teaching. We must acknowledge various types of learning such as: linguistic, logical, musical, spatial, bodily, interpersonal and interpersonal"

"It was great to see how each form of assessment for each subject fell into the major structural components. Since integrated unit/lesson plans require a combination of subjects it is great to see how each subject is assessed differently"

"A student who does not do well, can be accommodated by not avoiding standards, but helping students to adopt their high own standards and appreciate their sense of accomplishment in meeting them"

Triple Entry Journals
Throughout the course our class read various texts to provide a theoretical and practical lens through which to view, understand and think critically about the curriculum and methods appropriate for teaching dance in the Intermediate Division. Through this process we were required to write journal entires. Below are a few excerpts taken from the journals.
"Marques’ outlook on context-based education is a style of teaching I would like to encourage within my own classroom. Context-based education allows students to learn through the actual, practical experience of the society around them"

" A breakdown of each intelligence and characteristics that can help us identify our students. Having this as part of our repertoire is important and can better help educators assess their classrooms before beginning their courses"
